Chicken Lollipop is perfect for parties, since its very easy to make. You can make this in just three steps, marinate– fry – mix.
Chicken Lollipop is one of the most popular and famous Chicken appetizers in restaurants.
Bite-size finger foods are always a hit at any gathering. Yet the result is so scrumptious, flavorful and has a cool name like Chicken Lollipop.
There are usually two meals every day during Ramadan, one before the fast commences (known as Suhoor) and another to break the fast at sunset (known as Iftar/futoor).


Usually, in most households, there will be iftar parties, where family and friends gather. I am sure most of you are prepping yourself for an Iftar party. Do consider these Chicken lollipop Chinese Style for your parties.

Serves: 4
Ingredients
  • Chicken ½ Kg
  • Oil - Deep fry
  • Coriander leaves or Sping onions for garnish
  • Aluminum foil to wrap chicken bones
Marination
  • 4 tbsp maida/ all purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch/cornflour
  • 2 tbsp red chili powder or red chili paste
  • 2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ tsp cumin powder
  • ½ tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • Juice of 1 limes (or to taste)
  • 3 green chilies, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp soya sauce
  • ¼ tsp red food color, optional
  • Salt to taste
Schezwan sauce
  • 4 tbsp maida/ all purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch/cornflour
  • 2 tbsp red chili powder or red chili paste
  • 2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ tsp cumin powder
  • ½ tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • Juice of 1 limes (or to taste)
  • 3 green chilies, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp soya sauce
  • ¼ tsp red food color, optional
  • Salt to taste
Instructions
Marinate
  1. In a Large bowl mix, all the ingredients listed under marination and add chicken pieces, coat them well
  2. Marinate chicken under refrigeration for 1 to 2 hrs.
Sauce
  1. Heat up a nonstick pan. When the pan is hot add the oil.
  2. Add in garlic and ginger. Saute very well till it is nice and brown till the rawness of the garlic is gone.
  3. Add the red chili paste. You can adjust the amount depending upon the level of spiciness you want.
  4. Sauté for some time till the oil separates.
  5. Add in salt and pepper. Saute very well.
  6. Add in soya sauce and chilly sauce.
  7. Add sugar n vinegar.
  8. Cook for 30 sec.
Deep fry
  1. Heat oil Deep vessel, once the oil is hot start frying chicken in batches.
  2. Add chicken to the oil when the flame is high and then reduce it to medium to cook for 3 to 4 mins.
Final Step
  1. Once all the chickens are fried mix with sauce and garnish ith coriander leaves and aluminum foil
  2. Serve hot and enjoy your party.
